Dianne Feinstein Benefits From The Foreclosure Crisis

Not surprisingly my California Senator who "represents" me is benefitting from the current mortgage foreclosure debacle. Her husband, Richard Blum is Chairman of the Board of CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), a large commercial real estate firm. CBRE won the government contract to sell foreclosed properties that the FDIC had inherited. Feinstein sent a letter to the FDIC offering to help them secure funding to help stem the rise in home foreclosures just days before the FDIC determined that CBRE would be awarded the contract.

Around the same time as the contract award, Blum's private investment firm reported to the SEC that it and it's affiliates had purchased ten million new shares in CBRE. The shares were purchased at the going price of $3.77. Shares closed Monday at $5.14. Gosh, what great coincidental timing for that purchase. That makes a profit of nearly fourteen million dollars!

They're all a bunch of crooks in D.C. They need to be thrown out on their butts! Both sides of the aisle.

A Vintage Editorial Still Pertinent Today

This editorial by Charlie Reese in the Orlando Sentinal was published about a year ago. It certainly is a timeless topic since things never change in D.C.

545 PEOPLE
By Charley Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.

The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.

She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red .

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Some Tidbits From The Porkulus Bill

The post title is a link to the text of the Porkulus Bill. I'll include some wonderful snippets here for your enjoyment. If you are taking blood pressure or heart medication, have your pills close at hand.

"special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children (wic)
For an additional amount for the special supplemental nutrition program as authorized by section 17 of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (42 U.S.C. 1786), $100,000,000, for the purposes specified in section 17(h)(10)(B)(ii) for the Secretary of Agriculture to provide assistance to State agencies to implement new management information systems or improve existing management information systems for the program." - One Hundred Million Dollars! That equals twenty million Little Caesar's $5 pizza's. That's just for information management!

"periodic censuses and programs
For an additional amount for ‘Periodic Censuses and Programs’, $1,000,000,000: Provided, That section 1106 of this Act shall not apply to funds provided under this heading." - One Billion Dollars! That's equal to one million consumers buying a one thousand dollar flat screen TV. But the Census Bureau and programs create jobs!...? Well, technically yes, once every ten years!

"National Telecommunications and Information Administration
salaries and expenses
For an additional amount for ‘Salaries and Expenses’, $350,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2011: Provided, That funds shall be available to establish the State Broadband Data and Development Grant Program, as authorized by Public Law 110-385, for the development and implementation of statewide initiatives to identify and track the availability and adoption of broadband services within each State, and to develop and maintain a nationwide broadband inventory map, as authorized by section 6001 of division B of this Act." - This one speaks for itself. I shouldn't have to explain anything here for it to piss you off.

"National Institute of Standards and Technology
scientific and technical research and services
For an additional amount for ‘Scientific and Technical Research and Services’, $100,000,000." - Can we be any more vague than that?

"industrial technology services
For an additional amount for ‘Industrial Technology Services’, $100,000,000, of which $70,000,000 shall be available for the necessary expenses of the Technology Innovation Program and $30,000,000 shall be available for the necessary expenses of the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership." - How is this not pork when specific recipients are named? Why is it we are funding every agencies "necessary expenses"?

"$6,200,000,000 shall be for the Weatherization Assistance Program under part A of title IV of the Energy Conservation and Production Act (42 U.S.C. 6861 et seq.)." - Yes, that's six billion two hundred million dollars to give away to folks to weatherize their homes. Number of jobs created? (enter amount here____). That amount is about equal to one billion thirty three million McDonald's value meals or forty nine million six hundred thousand trips to the grocery store to spend $125 dollars.

"National Park Service
construction

(including transfer of funds)
For an additional amount for ‘Construction’, $1,700,000,000, for projects to address critical deferred maintenance needs within the National Park System, including roads, bridges and trails, and for other critical infrastructure projects: Provided, That funds may be transferred to ‘Operation of the National Park System’: Provided further, That $200,000,000 of these funds shall be for projects related to the preservation and repair of historical and cultural resources within the National Park System: Provided further, That $15,000,000 of these funds shall be transferred to the ‘Historic Preservation Fund’ for historic preservation projects at historically black colleges and universities as authorized by the Historic Preservation Fund Act of 1996 and the Omnibus Parks and Public Lands Act of 1996, except that any matching requirements otherwise required for such projects are waived: Provided further, That the amount set aside from this appropriation pursuant to section 1106 of this Act shall be not more than 5 percent instead of the percentage specified in such section" - What the heck? You tell me! One billion seven hundred million dollars! That would buy 425 million gallons of milk or 850 million loaves of bread or how about 68,000 Chevy Malibu Hybrids? At least they got really specific when describing the spending on "other critical infrastructure projects". That makes me feel much better. I also like how all of these articles allow for the transfer of funds to the "Operations of...". Dump it into their general funds and do whatever you want with it would be a more specific description. Porkulus, Porkulus, Porkulus!!

If you look at each article of the bill in the Department of the Interior section, for example, you will see that each expenditure is for "critical deferred maintenaince" projects. Isn't that an oxymoron? If it's critical it would not have been deferred. What were their budget expenditures that were more critical than critical?

I really have to quit digging into this because I am becoming more disillusioned and pissed off by the minute. These crooks are stealing your money and my money to give to their lobbyist buddies and anyone with their hand outstretched waiting for a "free" dollar.

Bastards!

What Has This Country Become?

I don't know who we are anymore. The corrupt band of criminals in Washington D.C. have co-opted my children's children's future. These bastards spending money on their whore's like there's no tomorrow. Sorry for the language but that's how I equivocate this fiscal travesty that's happening. Feel free to see where some of YOUR hard earned income is going. Here I am working and trying to get by at my trivial "job" while these bastards are giving criminals BILLIONS of dollars so their companies won't fail. Somehow they are too big or too important to fail. Excuse me...if you are crooked and run your company into the ground, it should fail!! After it fails YOU should go to jail and get a maximum sentence in the general population. Then you can become Bubba's bitch and see how it feels to be a regular Joe. You can get it just the way the rest of us are getting it. Scum bags. I understand that this is not the "me" that you are used to reading. It IS the me that is incredibly pissed off!

I learned today that all the employees of our company are required to take one week off without pay before the end of March. Hello? Washington? Where's our bailout? I know that a week without pay is better than no job at all. However, why don't they give me my tax money back instead of spending "$150,000,000 to provide emergency relief to eligible producers of livestock, honey bees, and farm-raised fish to aid in the reduction of losses due to disease, adverse weather, or other conditions, such as blizzards and wildfires, as determined by the Secretary".

Corrupt Bastards - Every one of them!!! You people need to wake up! You get what you vote for. If you voted for one single incumbent, I can only hope that you are looking back at your voting propensity with great dismay. The Founding Fathers are churning in their graves.

I'm signing off to go have a siezure in the quiet comfort of my padded room.

Good Read From The Canada Free Press

Aaron Goldstein from the Canada Free Press wrote an excellent commentary distinguishing between the actions of the left and right leaning electorate in this election cycle as it pertains to the losing side. His predictions of an Obama win with those on the right being unhappy yet resolved to win the next election and a McCain win sparking violence in the streets from those on the left is well founded (IMHO). Take a look, see what you think, decide for yourself.

Today's Quotes

This first quote from Samuel Adams is aimed specifically at Barack Obama and his associations that are rightly being called into question -
"He who is void of virtuous attachments in private life is, or very soon will be, void of all regard for his country. There is seldom an instance of a man guilty of betraying his country, who had not before lost the feeling of moral obligations in his private connections." --in a letter to James Warren, Nov. 4, 1775--

This too, is directed at Obama in regards to his "spread the wealth" viewpoint he expressed to Joe the Plumber
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
- Thomas Jefferson

This one can definitely be said of most of the recent sitting Congress'

In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.
- John Adams

The next two just happen to be for Joe. I know he'll give me a bucket of chum in return. I expect it and welcome the banter.
We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.
- John Adams

It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their chains.
- Patrick Henry

An appropriate quote in regards to the current financial meltdown throughout our country and the world.
History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling the money and its issuance.
- James Madison

Corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded.
- Noah Webster (the father of public education in America)

This Does NOT Make Me Feel Safe!!

After watching the video, got to The Return of Scipio and read the post. It certainly made me think even harder about my future.

Hey Kids, Listen Up!

Remember that song on Sesame Street that goes, "One of these things is not like the other things. One of these things just doesn't belong"?
Well, that's not the case in the quotes below. They are identical and dangerous ideologies.

From each, according to his ability; to each, according to his need

-Karl Marx

“…when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

-Barack Obama

Why Does Nebraska State Sen. Ernie Chambers Still Have A Job?

This story is exactly why we should throw ALL the bums out and start over with a new set of politically green politicians. Although being a politician is inherantly bad, I think a group of noobs at the helm would certainly do a better job.

This guy should be swiftly ushered out of his office at the next local election. If he is not, Nebraskans get what they voted for.

Obama Quote Regarding ACORN

Obama telling ACORN during a speech to the group in December 2007, that "before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda."

In November of last year, he told them... "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work."

He accepted their endorsement in 2008.

Come clean Barack, stop the lies.

See the Obama ACORN Tree

Obama Spreads False Claims

Here's the story from the Secret Service

Quote of the Day - "Senator Government"

It could be classified as a "gaffe" for Senator McCain in last nights debate but I see it literally as a Freudian slip. He was responding to one of Obama's acusations and he referred to him as Senator Government instead of Senator Obama. He is as he's being described. He wants government to take over the healthcare industry (boy, that would work really well!) and create a Nanny State where all American's could nurse at the federal government teat. He wants the sheeple to rely on government for all of their wants and needs because government knows best. Obama mocked McCain's healthcare plan saying healthcare costs are on average $12,000 a year and McCain will only be giving a tax credit of $5,000 towards that. Obama wants to foot the healthcare bill for everyone while giving 95% of the people a tax cut. What drug is he still smoking?? How are 95% of American's going to get a tax cut if 40% of Americans DON'T PAY ANY TAXES! Here's how...those 40% of Americans who don't pay taxes will receive a check, courtesy of the 60% of Americans who DO PAY TAXES!! Tell me that's not socialism and the redistribution of wealth. We don't pay taxes to fund a Marxist charity program, we pay them to fund the military, protect our borders and provide specific needed services (police, fire, etc).

Congressman Barney Frank

Just came across this picture of one of our fearless leaders (insert extreme sarcasm here). Barney Frank, whom I loathe as a human being, seen here with one of his "constituents". Photo poached from the fabulous thereturnofscipio.com. Here's a brief snippet of the accompanying essay.
We need to keep in mind several things about allowing likeminded creatures to rule over us. Frank has admitted to doing things—such as allowing a ephebophilic and homosexual prostitution ring to run from his apartment—that, if any school teacher had done them, would have resulted in his dismissal, arrest and prison. Yet Frank carries along unscathed, essentially above and beyond the law moral or otherwise.

A question: Why do we—or more accurately, the good and true folks who inhabit Massachusetts—put in power a man who is essentially an outlaw? What sort of society will the rulings of this man create? An answer: The very society we live in today.

And imagine this—but only if you have not eaten in awhile—that what the NAMBLA-mad Frank does to young men is fairly well the same thing he is doing to our nation.

I love the headline from the story in the Boston Globe on 9/28/08 that says "Frank's fingerprints are all over the financial fiasco". To put some icing on the cake, watch Bill O'Reilly go ballistic on Frank after reading the Boston Globe article. Scipio injects a portion of a classic John Adams quote that wholly applies to Barney Frank.
Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.

Obama Audio Supporting Bad Loans

From the horses mouth....

And The Plot Thickens

Here's an article from MediaCircus.com that has some history of Obama's legal carreer. He sued Citibank to force them to make bad loans to people who could not afford them under the Community Reinvestment Act. The suit alleged Citibank was redlining.

Wake up people....connect the dots!!!

Watch the video in the previous post. It will make your head explode!

Obama Seeks Government Grant For Donor

We might as well just pile on. Here's more questionable activity from Obama reported in the Washington Times.

...ethics watchdogs said he left himself open to creating the appearance of a conflict of interest, a situation senators are encouraged to avoid in their code of ethics.

Whenever a politician seeks help for a project in which supporters are involved, it can “spawn all kinds of traps and minefields,” said Leslie Paige, a spokeswoman for the nonpartisan Citizens Against Government Waste, an advocacy group.

“The appearance of a conflict of interest is almost as bad as a conflict of interest,” she said.

Obama Rakes In the Lobbyist $$ From Fannie/Freddie

Those contributions, however, are from the lobbyists who represented the failed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Obama, having been a Senator for a mere four years, out-received (to coin a new term) lobbyists dollars for even John Kerry who has been in the Senate for decades. Click the post title for the story from John Gibson at Fox News.

Some icing on the cake of incrimination: Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson in recent years were at the helm of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They are both current advisers to and supporters of Barack Obama. Do we want a possible future President getting his economic advice from the very people who perpetrated this current financial mess on our country?

Excellent Explanation....

....of how the country got into this financial mess on the Glenn Beck website. He gives a historical accounting with reference links to the information he provides.
