Armada Arrives in the Gulf

Here's a multimedia page on that has some good photos and videos. There's a narration of a video of an armada of ships arriving in the Persian Gulf for military exercises. Being the ex-Navy military junkie that I am, I tend to get a great deal of enjoyment from sites like these. Also Discovery Channel's Military Channel gives me the fix I need as well. I think if I only had the Discovery network channels available on my TV I would be happy enough. I don't necessarily watch a lot, but if I do it's generally something boring (per the other members of the household) on those channels.

How can this be considered boring? I'm not sure I would have been as genial to my attackers as this soldier was to his. What would this post be without more testosterone??

Just Can't Get Enough has me hooked like a bad habit. I have discovered mountains of new music on there. I listen to stuff I never would have considered listening to before. Some of that would be -
Evil Nine, Wagon Christ, Underworld, RJD2 and Girlsareshort. There are too many to list but you can check out what I've downloaded and listen to 30 second clips. Some of the clips aren't always the best example of the songs. For instance, on an eight minute electronic, house or downtempo song, you only get a thirty second clip. That in no way can define the entire song. The price of a monthly subscription to eMusic makes it easier to take a chance on a track you are not sure of but intrigued by. My subscription is on the old pricing scale, before the increase. I pay 0.249 cents a song where as the new rates are 0.33 cents a song. It also depends on the program you sign up for. I have the cheapest one being the scrooge that I am. You can save even more by getting annual subscriptions. The most expensive is just under $360 for two years. You get 75 downloads a month. Overall, it's the cheapest because the songs are only 0.199 cents a piece.

I sound like some sort of schill for eMusic, don't I? Notice the strategically placed link. I just love the site and probably spend way too much time on it. The $10 bucks that I spend a month on this service gives me more entertainment than all the other things I spend that amount on.

2 Dead in Church After Idaho Shootings

Stay tuned for more on this. It will be interesting to find out the identity of this bloke. I'm just wondering if he has any friends living near Fort Dix. No identities have been released as of yet. Witnesses said the gunman fired on the courthouse to get people to come out. He was just trying to kill as many people as possible. Same MO as the 6 Islamo-fascists that were arrested before committing their terrorist act against the soldiers at Fort Dix. I heard an NPR interview gloss over this as a few crazy individuals with easy access to guns just wanting to kill people. That's a bunch of "B"arbara "S"treisand. It was documented that those guys were Islamo-nazi's. Why did they get a pass on this? Why are we supposed to be so tolerant of people living in our country illegally (not just from the southern border) who desperately want to kill all of us in as brutal a fashion as possible?

A Chance Encounter and Joe Saves the Day

I don't normally get down to the plant, especially when my buddy Joe is still working (or does he really work at all?). I had to take the loaner car back and pick up the regular car. My swing man didn't fuel up the loaner car because there is no gas card in it, only a card that can be used for fueling at the plant. I didn't figure it was a problem since I had enough gas to get there. My regular car needed gas as well. However, the gas card was missing from the visor and I was stumped as to how I was going to get gas since I had already dropped the keys for the loaner car in "the box". Along comes Joe to save the day. He had no idea that he would be saving any days, though. He unlocked the transportation office and found the "red" fuel card that allows fueling any vehicle. The gas cards that are in the cars are specifically assigned to the ones they reside in. I got my full tank of gas, a mini reunion, and the papers we needed for the carrier shortage. A veritable tri-fecta!

Joe and I talked for awhile about our blogging and his scooter rides and the scenery pictures he posts from his rides. We don't usually get to do the face to face. Normally we swap comments on postings or the random email. It was good to have a real conversation and not just a few pecked words on a keyboard.

The latest from the American Criminal Lawyers Union

ACLU Seeks to Censor Religious Content from Louisiana Graduations.

I was always under the impression that the American Criminal Lawyers Union was in the business of protecting freedom of speech and not censoring it. Silly me, what was I thinking???

A Soldiers Perspective

An excellent animated short based on a blog posting by Colby Buzzell. He was an infantryman in Iraq and wrote a book called "My War - Killing Time in Iraq". He was with the Army's 3-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team based out of Fort Lewis, Washington. Hat Tip to The Evangelical Outpost for his link in a posting on 5/11/07.
