"Taking Parents Away"?

This excerpt from KNBC TV4 in Los Angeles

Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers union, said that until an immigration bill is passed, immigrants will continue to live in fear.

"Our people are living in terror right now, you know, getting people knocking at the doors in the middle of the night, taking parents away, leaving the citizen children behind," she said. "This cannot go on. It's got to be stopped."

I have a few questions for Delores;

1. What immigrants are "living in terror"? - answer - ILLEGAL ones. That makes them criminals, they should be living in fear. They have broken our laws.

2. What "people" are knocking at whose doors in the middle of the night? - answer - That's just a bizarre statement with no specific mention of ANY victims of "door knocking". Step away from the crack pipe, Dolores.

3. If you came here illegally, had children knowing you were here illeglly so that they would be your citizenship "anchor", and knew there was a chance (however remote) you could be deported for being here illegally but not your "citizen" children, who's fault is that? - answer - The illegal parents of "anchor" babies, not ours.
They break our laws, manipulate our system and then cry foul when they are called on it.

I completely agree with Dolores Huerta, "This cannot go on. It's got to be stopped". I however, am referring to the illegal immigration that she tacitly supports.

More On the Immigration Issue....

....I have to whole heartedly agree with President Theodore Roosevelt. I have published this quote before on the blog but I think it is fitting to revisit it in this current time of heightened awareness of immigration issues.

"[W]e should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...
There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

-- Former President Theodore Roosevelt, in a letter to the president of the American Defense Society dated January 3, 1919, three days before Roosevelt's death

Global Warming Caused by Worms!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
I now have proof that global warming is NOT caused by humans, it's caused by worms. I should have known.

This is getting to be pretty ridiculous. Untrue...it has been ridiculous for quite some time. I have yet to see any convincing evidence that "global warming" is caused by humans. Remember those headlines from the 1970's about the coming ice age? I know, that was due to global warming, we just didn't know it at the time. We are now so incredibly advanced that we can predict the weather 50, 100 or even 1000 years from now. Unfortunately the side effect of that incredible technological advancement of future weather prediction is that we can't predict the short term weather, like next week or even tomorrow.

The bottom line is there is nothing on the planet that doesn't cause global warming according to the "warmies". Why have we not burst into a fiery inferno due to everything that is warming us up? When do I get my beachfront property?

More Ann Coulter, Please!

I must admit that I don't keep up with the columnists that I like to follow. I could only dream of having enough time to read all the op/eds I enjoy. Perusing the news and opinions this morning on favorite sites, I caught a link to the Human Events magazine website. I read Ann's current column about that sleaze bucket lawyer in the Duke LaCrosse rape case, Mike Nifong. She skewers him on a pig spit and uses extra BBQ sauce to boot! I looked in the Ann Coulter archives and one headline caught my eye, "Jerry Falwell -- Say Hello To Ronald Reagan!". It was written over a month ago. That shows you my timetable for op/ed reading. I couldn't resist, hey...it's Ann Coulter!

Read it. Funny, biting humor, truth, sarcasm. What more can you ask for? You may not agree with her writings but boy, can she tell it like it is and make you laugh at the same time.

The Left's Fascination With the Right's Supposed Media Control

This article at CNS news shows the rather sophisticated collaboration of the left in shutting down free speech. That sounds very conspiratorial and "black helicopter"-like but there efforts and collaborations taking place to try to silence a news network that does not provide a liberal bias. Liberal activists effectively persuaded candidates to withdraw from a debate merely because they did not like the Fox News network hosting. I'm quite confident that there was never a boycott from the right when CNN (Communist News Network), ABC (Always Bull Crap), CBS (Crooked Broadcasting Service) or NBC (Non Believable Communications) held a debate. Candidates from the right generally want to be involved in any debate.

Less information is bad, shutting down debates is bad, spinning information is bad. While both sides can be accused of spinning, it's the left that actively trys to shut down free speech and the dissemination of information. This quote from Robert Greenwald, one of the activist organizers that successfully shut down the debate, I think speaks for itself.

"The more Democrats legitimize Fox as a neutral or credible source of news, the easier it is for Fox to swiftboat Democratic candidates and progressive ideas in the future -- elevating smears and misinformation into the mass media during the 2008 election," it says.

The Left attempts to shut down opposition by attacking the opposing messengers rather than defending their position. Try to avoid the facts because that tends to confuse their opinions.

The One Sane Opinion on ABC's "The View"

Granted, this was aired a while ago, but you just gotta love that Elizabeth! She's outgunned on a daily basis by three or four to one but she holds her own. Thanks to the Evil White Guy blog for the YouTube link.

Mrs. Farfromgruvin had a propensity in the past to watch The View as well as the Rosie O'Donnell Show. As horrifying as that may seem, she came to her senses after Rosie ambushed Tom Selleck on her show regarding his Second Amendment views. I have to admit that I did actually enjoy Rosie's humor waaaaay back when she was first starting out as a stand up comic. I don't want her opinions on ANYTHING, EVER. Just make me laugh. That's what you (at one time) do well and why you get paid. I could care less what you are thinking. You know what they say about peoples opinions don't you? Opinions are like armpits, everyone has one and they all stink.

It amazes me at how the hollywood types seem to think that their opinion on anything is superior simply because they are famous. They live in a fantasy world, devoid of any hint of reality. Shut up and do your job. When we want your opinions we'll....oh, wait.....we don't want them.....nevermind.

If You Think There is No Threat From Islamo-fascists....

....read this article and see if you think we could just sit down and talk with them. Maybe we can work things out, reach an agreement, come to some sort of compromise. They're regular folk just like us, right?

Jumping the Gun...Sort of

I guess my last post on the Yahoo! mail catastrophe (as I perceived it) was a bit rash. After I did a little snooping and switched back to the old version, I found that the ads that were so pervasive in the beta version were quite docile and complacent in the old web-based version.

So, Yahoo! mail, I apologize if I upset you with my rant against your revenue generating technics. I know you are quite concerned with the relationship that we have. Me being a ten to twelve year veteran and all, I'm sure my input is as invaluable as those of the programmers and designers that implement the changes to your site. I should not have jumped to conclusions and said things to you that I really didn't mean. If only I had taken the time to find out your true qualities I could have avoided creating this truly unfortunate rift.

Yahoo! mail, please forgive me....

Yahoo Mail Stabs Me in the Back

My world is crashing in on me. I have been a faithful user of Yahoo! mail for around ten years now. I enjoy the ease of use and the compatibility with other Yahoo! products. The price is just right, too! (zero)

I logged on today and was greeting with a big, fat, stinking banner ad taking up 25% of my message window and clickable links using nearly 50% of my folder view window. They were also kind enough to integrate Yahoo! messenger (I don't chat, period) into my mail interface and automatically sign me in when I log into my mail.

What have I done to tick these people off? Why would they kick me in the groin and stab me in the back as I fell to the ground? I was always very impressed with their spam filters. I rarely had spam slip through into my inbox. I was pleased....happy.... content.... Now I am so mad I can't see straight. I have a Gmail account but have never used it because I'm not real happy with the functionality. I have so much time and effort invested in Yahoo! products that it will be monumental to make a move.

Just last month I was informed that Yahoo! photos was going away because Flickr is where it's at. O.K, I guess I can deal with that. I'll start migrating my pictures to Flickr. Suck it up, bite the bullet...

Oh, and did we mention that there is a limit of 200 pictures for the "free" version? You can subscribe and get unlimited storage! Yay! I found that out when I got to my 200 picture limit after several hours of uploading, transferring, renaming, tagging, etc. Oh yeah, and did we tell you that we might sell ourselves to Microsoft? Great, the devil incarnate will own the entire world and my 200 picture limit. The more I type the more angry I get! I need some duct tape, my head feels like it's going to explode!

And in closing...bite me Yahoo!...I'm outta here!

More ACLU anti-American Activity

This from OpinionJournal.com is another bullet point on the long list of reasons the ACLU (American Criminal Lawyers Union) should, itself be prosecuted, defunded, investigated, whatever needs to be done. Just get rid of the bums. The opinion piece speaks of a current litigation that should not be too surprising since the ACLU was founded by people who belonged to the "American Union Against Militarism". They were an anti-war group dating back to 1914.

During the first 60 years of the organization, nearly eighty percent of the elected members had Communist Party affiliations. On top of that, a full ninety percent of the cases they were defending involved Communists. Here's a good informational site with lots of historical landmarks of the group.

There are a few fleeting moments in ACLU history where either the target or the outcome of their litigation actually provided some measure of good for the citizens of the U.S. Those fleeting moments are far out-weighed by their overt attempts to destroy our country through litigation as described in the opinion piece refenced above. Not to mention their attacks on religious freedoms (that's a whole other can of worms).

My whole rant here is due to the fact the ACLU are suing a private company for transporting government prisoners overseas. Read the opinion and try to figure out how the ACLU is justified in doing this. Who are they trying to protect? More precisely, who are they trying to impede? How is the company doing the trasporting of the prisoners being "unconstitutional"?

I know Joe will have something to say on this topic. I'm not sure as to what position he will take, but he WILL have something to say.

Good Grief

Grief, that's what I got, but maybe not good. Joe always gives me a bucketful when I can't keep up with his frenetic on-the-clock posting. I'm in the wrong job. I DO think he will appreciate this poached graphic however....
